Yes, all of those bags, boxes and containers we bring home or have delivered actually do add up. In fact, according to statistics compiled by the European Commission, each inhabitant of Germany generated 221 kilograms of packaging waste in 2016.
In an effort to counter all of this waste and wastefulness, two entrepreneurs in Hamburg have launched the company Superseven, which offers “organic packaging” solutions that are 100% recyclable and compostable.
Under its Repaq® brand, the startup offers many different packaging solutions, including bags, film, labels and pouches – all of which are free of harmful substances.
In addition, Superseven also operates a consulting business that advises clients on matters related to sustainability and ecology, such as how to sell products without using plastic packaging.
Since being launched in 2017, the company has already won numerous awards, including a Green Alley Award for businesses in the circular economy.
