The unicorns just keep coming and coming in Germany in the first month of 2021, as Munich personnel software start-up Personio has also broken through the USD one billion mark in value.
This after the company raised EUR 125 million in venture capital in its latest round of financing. Personio management says that the sky is the limit.
“This valuation reflects only a fraction of our potential,” CEO Hanno Renner told German business newspaper Handelsblatt. “There’s no reason why we shouldn’t be valued at 20 or even 40 billion someday.”
Personio makes what it calls “holistic” human resources solutions targeted specifically at small- to medium-sized enterprises. Among its clients is the highly toured food delivery service HelloFresh. The company says it plans to double its number of employees this year, from 500 to 1000.
