If the number of international companies increasing their activities is a good measure, then the economic recovery from coronavirus constraints is well underway in the regional state North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW). There have been a number of high-profile expansions in the past few weeks and months. Here’s a list compiled with the help of information from the regional economic promotion agency NRW.Global Business:

American heart-pump specialist Abiomed is expanding its European headquarters in Aachen by roughly 50 percent.

Japanese technology service provider NTT is constructing a build-to-suit data center with 4.8 MW of IT load and 2,620 square meters of space in Bonn.

Norway’s Photocure, which specializes in bladder cancer diagnostics, is opening its first German branch in Düsseldorf.

Rapidly growing Finnish food delivery unicorn Wolt is extending its services to Cologne.

US tech company Open Sesame, which is developing an app for online karaoke, is also opening its European headquarters in Cologne.

Dutch digital consultancy Anderson MacGyver is establishing its first foreign office in Düsseldorf.

Iconic American clothing maker Levi’s is building a European distribution center in the town of Dorsten.

And Finnish intralogistics specialist Cimcorp is opening a new site in Willich.
