Altmaier: Government Will Mitigate November Corona Lockdown Damage

In the aftermath of the German government’s announcement of a four-week temporary lockdown, German Minister of Economic Affairs and Energy Peter Altmaier has said the state would address its negative economic impact.
Altmaier told reporters that
- sufficient state aid will be available for businesses as Germany prepares to enter a partial, temporary lockdown from November 2 to November 30
- no limits would be placed on applications for EUR 10 billion in additional emergency economic assistance
- Asia – a crucial market for the German economy – was experiencing robust economic recovery.
