2018 was a good year for Invest in Bavaria and for the Bavarian economy. The economic development agency was able to attract 121 new foreign businesses of the southeastern German state. That created 1817 new jobs and secured 710 existing ones. The investors’ leading countries of origin were the United States (18 projects), Japan (13) and Britain (11)
The Bavarian Economics Ministry said that the new businesses were spread across the state, with concentrations in the capital Munich and southern Bavaria.
Covering more than 70,000 square kilometers and playing home to more than 13 million people, Bavaria had a GDP of 625 billion euros in 2018. Invest in Bavaria is state-owned agency encouraging foreign investment and the establishment of foreign businesses in Munich and beyond.
