Bavarian-Chinese Success Story

October 2019

ZD Automotive has opened up a new company building in the Bavarian city of Ingolstadt. It’s intended to be home to as many as 120 employees working in research and development for the infotainment-systems and autonomous-driving specialist.

The new building is the latest step in what’s been a ladder to success. ZD Automotive was founded in 2012 by Qiang Zhou, an engineer who studied at Munich’s Technical University and worked for BMW and Audi.In those posts he recognized the potential of infotainment systems for passenger vehicles and founded his own company.

ZD Automotive has grown by an average of 30 percent annually and has become a world leader in services and solution for the entire infotainment-systems and autonomous-driving sector.
It currently employs more than 300 people worldwide at locations including Beijing, Shanghai and Nanjing as well as Ingolstadt.
