French company Comuto, Europe’s largest online market for carpool, has gotten involved in bus transportation in Germany.
Under the name Blablabus, it is offering bus services to 19 German cities. Connections include Berlin-Frankfurt, Berlin-Munich, Dresden-Bremen and Düsseldorf-Hamburg. By the end of 2019, Blablabus plans to expand to 40 destinations.
To introduce its service, the company initially offered tickets for as little as 99 cents. Passengers are allowed one piece of hand luggage and two larger bags. All busses are handicapped accessible and provide free WLAN and other amenities.
The move comes after German bus company Flixbus expanded to other European markets including France. Flixbus currently controls over 90 percent of the German market for travel by bus.
