Since August 2017, he has been the new managing director of Investment and Marketing Corporation Saxony-Anhalt (IMG), the economic development agency of the federal state. The prospects for this are good: Saxony-Anhalt offers excellent conditions for investment and a market and company-related business case investor’s service offered by IMG.
The investments of foreign companies in 2017 in Saxony-Anhalt underline that. Looking back shows that 2017 was a year in which “the chemistry was right”. Many of the investments came from the chemical industry. And they were benefiting from the synergy effects of the branch which is densely interlinked in the state and offers excellent infrastructure in Saxony-Anhalt’s five chemical parks. Formerly the grounds of the Industriepark Region Trier (IRT) between Föhren and Hetzerath were a station for French helicopters. The site now houses around 130 companies which have created nearly 2,600 jobs. Thus is IRT – founded in 1992 – one of the most successful conversion projects in Rhineland-Palatinate.
