“Chorus” Named Top Computer Game of 2022
“Enter a dark new universe, teeming with mystery and rife with conflict. Explore epic locations such as sprawling space stations and strange planes of existence beyond our own.” This is how the creators invite gamers to play “Chorus,” the winner of the best game at this year’s prestigious German Video Game Awards (DCP). The awards are sponsored and handed out annually by the German Ministry for Digital and Transport and the industry organization game. The top game prize is worth EUR 100,000.
Developed by Hamburg video game studio Fischlabs and published by Deep Silver, “Chorus” is a single-player, third-person “space opera” revolving around a female pilot named Nara who battles a cult that aims to dominate the universe. It beat out computers “Endzone – A World Apart” and “Lacuna,” whose creators both received EUR 30,000.
Cipsoft from the Bavarian city of Regensburg was named 2022’s best video-game studio.
With a turnover of more than EUR 8.5 billion, Germany is the largest gaming market in Europe and one of the biggest in world. It has experienced exponential growth in recent years.
