Doctolib – a French company that expanded to Berlin in 2016 – has raised €150 million in a second round of funding and is now a unicorn with an estimated value of more than €1 billion. The latest capital infusion was led by global investment fund General Atlantic.
Doctolib has come up with an app that allows patients to establish contact more efficiently with doctors and other healthcare professionals. The company says it gets 40 million visits a month per month, and its database encompasses 100,000 physicians and therapists. It maintains development centers in Paris and Berlin.
“Our mission is to make health systems more human, more efficient and better networked and to build up a company in which all employees share the same values, “ says Doctolib co-founder and CEO Stanislas Niox-Chateau. “We’re convinced that the transformation of the health system begins with doctors. We work with them as partners to provide the best possible services for them and their patients.”
Doctolib employs 450 people in 35 branches throughout Europe.
