Foreign Investments in Bavarian Solar Company
August, 2018
In its fifth financing round, the Bavaria-based battery maker sonnen brought in EUR 60 million. While the lion’s share came from the British-Dutch oil and gas company Shell, the other investors included the US technology giant GE and the Chinese wind company Envision. The investments, which will reportedly focus on networked battery storage systems and charging infrastructure, will help the global leader in smart residential solar storage solutions expand its strategy of rapid international growth.
