German-Israeli Cyber Security
August 2019
Germans and Israelis are teaming up to ward off hacks and other digital attacks in a unique program of so-called partnership accelerators.
In 2019, the initiative centered on the German state of Hesse and was called the Hessian-Israeli Partnership Accelerator (HIPA). The twelve-week program featured teams from both countries attempting to develop solutions for securing 5G networks, preventing fraudulent emails and protecting Internet infrastructures.
Three German-Israel teams presented their results to German and Israeli political and business leaders at the headquarters of Commerzbank in Frankfurt am Main.
The next round will commence nest spring under its new name: German-Israeli Partnership Accelerator (GIPA). Applications are already being accepted under www.cybertech.fraunhofer.de.
