Global Alliance Power Fuels
December, 2018
The German Energy Agency (Dena) launched the Global Alliance Power Fuels together with partners from industry, including big names like Audi, Bosch and Siemens.
The alliance aims to open up global markets for so-called green power fuels – i.e., fuels in gas or liquid form that are produced using electrolysis and energy from renewable resources – and to establish a broad network of partners from research, science, politics and society. Its goals for the years ahead are to scale the production of green power fuels to industrial levels, to reduce costs and to optimize regulatory framework conditions.
Germany reportedly has around 30 projects related to making climate-neutral power fuels using renewable energy, which have been called the “missing link” for ambitious global climate protection.
