Global Cloud Scoreboard 2018
Germany recently took the top spot on the 2018 Global Cloud Scorecard of the international Business Software Alliance (BSA), whose members include IBM, Salesforce and Oracle. The annual study examines the legal and regulatory framework of 24 countries to rank them across seven criteria in terms of their preparedness for the adoption and growth of cloud computing services. Germany, which climbed two spots from the last Scorecard, mainly scored extra points for its national cybersecurity policies and its promotion of free trade. The report found that Germany’s rank is “a sign that the legal and regulatory environment for cloud computing in Germany is encouraging cloud innovation.” The top five was rounded out by Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom and Australia.
