It’s report card time again, and Germany has brought home some excellent marks. The magazine US News and World Report ranked Germany the second-best country in the world for entrepreneurs, behind only Japan.
Germany drew a perfect score for its “well-developed infrastructure” and also drew praise for its educated population, connection to the rest of the world, technological expertise and well-developed legal framework.
The magazine also ranked the world’s countries generally based on a number of social, cultural and economic criteria. Here Germany came in fourth, trailing only Switzerland, Japan and Canada and beating out the United Kingdom, Sweden, Australia and the United States.
The magazine found that Germany had room for improvement in the areas of providing easy access to capital and innovation.
