Hosokawa Alpine Plans New Logistics Center in Augsburg
August, 2018
Hosokawa Alpine has announced plans to build a new logistics center in Augsburg to take advantage of the region’s GVZ freight traffic center, which offers optimal road and railway connections. The new location will allow the company to transfer the majority of its shipments to ports from truck to rail transportation since the latter is more environmentally friendly. After opening in mid-2019, the facility will handle incoming goods, storage, packaging and dispatch. The company, a maker of technology of powder, particle processing and film extrusion is a subsidiary of the Japanese machinery manufacturer Hosokawa Micron Corporation.
