Plug and Play in Hamburg
October 2019
The world’s largest start-up accelerator Plug and Play is planning to open a branch for supply chain and logistics in Hamburg. It’s the Silicon Valley company’s fifth location in Germany after Berlin, Frankfurt, Stuttgart and Munich.
Plug and Play specializes in linking established companies and start-ups and will work closely with Hamburg’s Logistics Digital Hub. “It’s a very good day for Hamburg,” said Rolf Strittmatter, managing director of Hamburg Invest. “Plug and Play is a perfect match for Hamburg and its future industries and Hamburg is a match for Plug and Play.”
Plug and Play operates an intense selection process that winnows down 1000 applicants to 20 participants in the program proper. Tchibo, Fiege, Panalpina and Schnellecke Logistics are among Plug and Play’s corporate partners.
