Record Number of Foreign Students in Germany
The number of foreign students studying at German universities and technical colleges reached a record level of 359,000 in 2017, a 5 percent increase over the previous year.
As a result, the goal of federal and state governments to have 350,000 international students by 2020 was exceeded three years early.
Most of the students come from China, India and Russia, followed by Austria and Italy, and enjoy a wide range of support at the universities from their international offices, such as information in English, language instruction and assistance with official agencies.
What’s more, Germany is also very attractive to foreign scientists and scholars.
