Bell Equipment, a South African manufacturer of dump trucks and other construction and agricultural machinery, held the groundbreaking ceremony in June for a new building at its plant near Eisenach, Thuringia.
The structure, expected to open in mid-2019, involves an investment volume of approximately EUR 13 million and will reportedly create 135 new jobs in the medium term. Since 2013, the company has been operating a dump-truck assembly facility at the location that employs 140 people and assembled 431 dump trucks in 2017. The new 12,000 sqm plant will also manufacture the company’s own assemblies and components on the site for the first time. Vehicles completed here are destined for markets in Europe, North America and Asia.
The investment is being supported by EUR 1.4 million in funding from the state government.
