Only the small airfield for private jets reminds of the former military base. This is where the company jet of the Italian company Italpannelli lands. Italpannelli produces sandwich panels and profile sheets in Abruzzo and Spain. They were looking for a location offering an optimal logistical connection to their customers in Northern and Western Europe. IRT CEO Reinhard Müller welcomed the delegation. „Of course, one deals in advance very intensively with a company,“ says Müller about the phase of „courting“. He and his team were in Italy and convinced Italpannelli with hard facts. „We were able to acquire enough ground here to realize our idea of a production plant and have the option to further expand it,“ says Italpannelli CEO Engelbert Ritsch. „The transport connection is optimal. From the Trier location we are able to reach the neighboring markets of France, Benelux and the Nordic countries well. Short distances to our customers are ecologically necessary and useful. And we have already established contacts with neighboring companies, also with a view to future-oriented cooperation. “
Italpannelli has already invested about 25 million euros and created around 60 jobs.
This was made possible by the state-owned development bank, the Investment and Economic Development Bank of Rhineland-Palatinate (ISB) based in Mainz, which accompanied the successful settlement together with Germany Trade & Invest (GTAI).
The ISB is responsible for economic and housing promotion in Rhineland-Palatinate. As the first point of contact, it advises domestic and foreign investors in financing their projects in Rhineland-Palatinate and provides subsidies, low-interest loans, guarantees and participations in the framework of suitable programs. In the search for suitable land and real estate ISB supports its customers with the help of the Internet-based multilingual ISB location finder (www.standortfinder.rlp.de).
In addition, the promotional bank offers an expert advisory service in close cooperation with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Transport, Agriculture and Viticulture, the Chambers of Commerce, many other multipliers in the state and GTAI at the federal level. Last but not least, it provides foreign companies with business contacts in Rhineland-Palatinate and supports companies from Rhineland-Palatinate to find partners abroad for production, contract manufacturing, joint ventures and sales.
